2027 Season – Confirmed Date
Since its inception in 2010, the St. Croix Scenic 50 has been as challenging as it is beautiful. The scenic 50k race course takes runners up heart pounding climbs and quad screaming descents in the tropical winter heat. The St. Croix Scenic 50 offers both Individual and Team Relay events. So if you’re not ready to run a full 50k you can have a two to four person relay team. The Team Relay divides the 50k course into four legs to be run by a 2 to 4 person team, using the top of ‘The Beast’ and the Turn Around Aid Stations as transition points.
EVENT DETAILS
Date and Time:Â The race is held in January. The race starts at 6am, and the awards ceremony is held at 2pm.
Course:Â Starting and ending at the beautiful Cane Bay Beach. Runners will be treated to sunrise along the north shore for a little over 5 miles before heading into the newly created trails (thanks to the VI Trail Alliance) that will work its way up East Scenic with the luxury of soft ground and shade. At the top of East Scenic runners will follow the dirt road back into the old jeep trails to the top of The Beast.
Continuing across The Beast, runners will follow the scenic west trails, and head down to St. Croix’s beautiful west-end shoreline via Creque Dam Road. Soak up the shade along Creque Dam Road as there are about 2.5 miles of sun exposed shoreline to run before heading back into the trails via the infamous Crusher hill. The course will briefly backtrack on previously covered trail back to the top of The Beast. A steep but stunningly beautiful descent DOWN The Beast and there is only a mile to go to the finish line and a proper beach party celebration!
