2027 Season – TBA, this event is typically held on the last weekend of February each year.
While the middle of February is reserved for Agrifest festivities, the last weekend of the month is all about orchids! This is a three-day event held in the Great Hall of the St. George Village Botanical Garden. The St. Croix Orchid Society show includes workshops on orchid breeding and care. In addition, there is a sale of their gorgeous specimens, as well as a raffle. All attendees are able to vote for their favorite orchid displays. Ribbons are bestowed upon the winning orchids at the end of the weekend!
Aside from installing and maintaining the 1000 Orchid Memorial Garden in honor of the lives of the enslaved African people who built the many (now historic) buildings on the garden property, the Orchid Society puts together this celebration of Orchids to share their love of these exquisite expressions of color rarely seen elsewhere in nature.
