Enjoy Unique Live Entertainment

While you are here on St. Croix, take the opportunity to indulge in some live entertainment. The island offers a wide variety of lively performances for your enjoyment – from cultural dancers and local musicians to the iconic moko jumbies and salsa dancing, there is something for everyone of every age. Better still, you can find nightly entertainment scattered across the entire island for your convenience.

Probably the most popular form of entertainment here on St. Croix for visitors, and even some residents, are the Caribbean themed nights held at many of the local resorts. In addition to offering buffets of delicious local fare, these Caribbean night events include a combination of live entertainment such as live local bands or musicians, fire dancers, or quadrille dancers – Crucian folk dancers that perform to quelbe music. But, the stars of every Caribbean show, festival and parade are the moko jumbies. These stilt dancers have been a part of Virgin Islands cultural heritage for hundreds of years, and they intrigue everyone with their their colorful costumes, their flamboyant behavior, and most of all, their almost acrobatic feats of dancing on their towering stilts. Don’t miss your chance to dance with one of the moko jumbies – then you can check that off of your list of 100 Things To Do on St. Croix! Check our Calendar of Events for details.

Dance with a Moko Jumbie!

Jump Up, the Christiansted block party-style events, are bursting with live entertainment! The streets downtown are closed off to traffic and moko jumbies roam around entertaining the crowds, and steel drum and calypso bands march along the streets playing to hundreds of spectators dancing and clapping along to the music. The boardwalk comes alive with the sounds of DJs and live bands spilling out from the waterfront bars and restaurants. Restaurants and shops stay open late, and vendors offer local favorites and delectable street food.

You can also find free outdoor jazz concerts at the Rhythms at Sunset events in Frederiksted. Stop by the Divi Carina Bay Casino for live music and dancing, and maybe play a casino game or two while you listen.
